Czech app Calmory has launched a fundraiser on Donio. It wants to give students free access to prevention in the Premium version

According to data from the National Mental Health Monitoring, more than 50% of ninth-grade pupils show reduced mental wellbeing. Waiting times for professional help are measured in months. That is why the Czech mobile app Calmory has decided on a radical step – to make its Premium version available free of charge to all students in the Czech Republic under 18. It is now raising the funds it needs in a campaign on Donio.

“The figures on the mental state of adolescents in our country are alarming, and professional care has been overloaded for a long time. And because we believe that prevention and care for mental health should not depend on the thickness of parents’ wallets, we want to make Calmory Premium, with all its features, available to students under 18 in the Czech Republic completely free of charge. With this step we want to create a system that teaches the young generation to work with stress and tension as a skill that can be trained,” says Stanislav Knotek, director of the Calmory app.

The fundraiser on the Donio platform runs until the end of August and the campaign aims to reach three milestones. If CZK 500,000 is raised, Calmory 2.0 will come into being: an intelligent guide with calm-training programmes. Calmory will become an active guide for the user, helping turn theory into everyday practice through a motivational habit guide, an interactive self-development journal, three introductory calm-training programmes and a connection with wearable electronics.

“In practice we see that many people come for help only when their psychological overload is already very high. Yet a number of difficulties arise gradually. The purpose of Calmory is to offer people tools they can use in time, and directly in the rhythm of their day,” explains Filip Hajna, expert guarantor of the Calmory app.

If CZK 550,000 is raised, the app will expand by another three calm-training programmes. CZK 600,000 raised in the campaign then means unlocking Calmory Premium free of charge for all students in the Czech Republic under 18, plus another three calm programmes.
